The event is in it's 3rd year now. It runs alongside our Wyedean Relay event but all timing will be independent.
This is suitable for beginners to Ultra Running as well as experienced Ultra Runners.

Feed stations/checkpoints
At what would be the end of each leg of the relay (or near) there will be a feed station (checkpoint) - food/drinks etc and a timing point.
On each feed station there will be a selection of foods designed to fuel you. There will be water 'jacks' with taps where you can refill your own bottles at each checkpoint.
At each checkpoint there will be a timing point.
Most of these checkpoints are at convenient places with road access, so your own supporters/ helpers can gain access if needed.
The way is mostly well marked with national footpath signs.
Along the way you will encounter and probably overtake the relay event that is going on at the same time. The ultra is, however, a completely separate event with separate marshals and timing. We expect a good atmosphere and support from the relay teams as you progress along the route as they will be gathering to start their leg and support friends finishing other legs.
For rough route maps (we suggest you use your own detailed mapping) and information of each section see here.
Sorry - no 4 legged friends allowed on this - some of the trails go through farmland with livestock.
Cut-off times.
This is intended as a run/walk event. The event is not suitable for anyone thinking of walking the whole way. We need to consider the welfare of marshals/helpers (and indeed participants) so will have a cut off time of 5:30pm at Brockweir, end of leg 5. This is 50 kms in 8.5 hours. We would provide transport back for anyone who is timed out from here. If you think you will struggle to run at or faster than 10.5 min per km then consider asking for an early start at 8:00am when the relay goes off (no transport from Chepstow available). Just add a note in 'special request' when you enter.
Got any questions? Please just go to the Facebook event and make a reply post:
First aid cover - there will be first aid cover at each checkpoint.
Why is transport from finish to start? Clearly providing transport from finish to back to the start would be problematic - we'll have runners finishing from 2:45pm right the way through to 7:30pm. It would be a 5 hour wait for earlier finishers if the coach left at 7:45pm after everyone is back.
Runners kit list:
Mandatory - waterproof top, mobile phone with contact numbers, map or route directions, footwear of choice, food and hydration at runners discretion.
Optional - first aid kit, poles are allowed, spare long sleeve thermal top
